YouTube does not have a published net worth or valuation. It is owned by Alphabet, Google's parent company, and Alphabet does not value YouTube separately. What Alphabet does report is YouTube's advertising revenue: $40.4 billion in 2025, up from $36.1 billion in 2024. It also said YouTube's revenue across ads and subscriptions exceeded $60 billion for 2025. Any "YouTube net worth" figure you see is an analyst's or a website's estimate built on those numbers.
What Alphabet reports
Alphabet publishes YouTube ad revenue as its own line in every quarterly and annual report filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Q3 2026, reported on 28 October 2026, was about 9% higher than the same quarter a year earlier.
Subscription revenue from YouTube Premium, YouTube Music and YouTube TV is not reported on its own. Alphabet groups it with other products, such as Google One and devices, under "Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices". The one combined figure it has given is that YouTube's ads and subscriptions revenue together passed $60 billion in 2025. In its Q3 2026 results it also said YouTube Music and Premium had passed 150 million subscribers worldwide, including trials.
What YouTube has paid creators
YouTube has said it paid over $100 billion to creators, artists and media companies in the four years before September 2025. It announced the figure at its Made on YouTube event in September 2025, and its CEO Neal Mohan repeated it in January 2026.
That money flows mainly through the revenue shares in the Partner Program: 55% of ad revenue on long-form videos, a pooled 45% share on Shorts, and a share of Premium revenue. YouTube ad revenue explained covers how each split works.
Why "YouTube net worth" figures vary so much
Net worth is assets minus liabilities, which is a measure for people and private companies, not for a division inside a public company. What people usually mean is a valuation: what YouTube would sell for as a standalone business. Analysts produce these by multiplying revenue by the multiple they think comparable media companies trade at. Pick a different multiple and you get a very different number, which is why published estimates disagree so widely. None of them come from Alphabet.
How YouTube was bought
Google bought YouTube in 2006 for $1.65 billion in stock, less than two years after the site launched. YouTube now earns many times that every quarter from ads alone.
